The Phantom Sense Dregs
THE GUILD HALLS ARE CLOSED. THE STAIRS STILL WANT MONEY.
You are not the chosen one. You are an Operator: broke, uninsurable, and taking extraction contracts from a board that rotates jobs like a vending machine full of liability.
is a >span class="font-semibold" data-streamdown="strong">turn-based, first-person dungeon crawler on a tactical grid—step forward, snap-turn at 90°, fight in corridors, read the fog-of-war minimap, and try not to die between the shrine and the exit.
Early development, but playable now. Floors, contracts, combat, loot, professions, and extraction are in; more systems land as the swamp shifts.
WHAT YOU ACTUALLY DO DOWN THERE
- Crawl like it’s 1991. Grid movement, facing, line-of-sight combat, doors, traps, tolls, shrines, and deeper floors that stop pretending to be fair.
- Pick a contract, not a destiny. Each run has a real objective—rescue someone “royal-adjacent,” slay the Ogre King, recover a politely cursed relic, silence a gossiping well, survey the basement for paperwork nobody will read, certify the dungeon “safe” while not documenting too many hazards, or serve legal notice to the architecture itself.
- Fight with a build, not a cutscene. Choose from many professions, gear up, level attributes, and cast from a small prepared spell kit—melee, bow, and magic all answer to the same turn clock.
- Extract or push your luck. Finish the job, pay the extraction fee, and leave with your payout—or stay deeper for more gold and more ways to lose it all.
- File the nonsense. The Slop Codex is your incident ledger: monsters, odd loot, contract proof, and continuity glitches you actually witnessed—because this dungeon was generated by something petty, and it shows.
THE VIBE
Dry, absurd, and slightly corporate. Combat log lines treat violence like HR. Contracts describe heroism the way a clerk describes a package return. The world is hostile, funny, and meant to be played, not managed from a spreadsheet.
If you liked old-school dungeon crawlers but wished the quest giver hated you personally, you’re in the right swamp.
PLAY HOW YOU LIKE
Browser or desktop. No install required for the web build; runs offline once cached. Touch and keyboard controls are built for the crawl, not for a management sim.
(Built in Go, rendered in the browser—details for the curious at the bottom.)
THE SLOP PRESERVE (AI DISCLOSURE)
This game was produced with AI assistance: code, art, text, balance, and some of the bugs. That isn’t hidden—it’s part of the fiction. When the world contradicts itself, your Operator logs it in the Slop Codex. The dungeon behaves like bad generated content that became legally binding.
DEVELOPMENT NOTICE
The grid is hot and the game is playable today, but it’s early access. Expect new floors, contracts, monsters, and administrative cruelty as updates land.
